PLENARY: Living the Faith: Hope, Faith, and Change

 

WORKSHOPS

1. Before the Call to Worship - For newcomers to Emerging Spirit,this workshop takes a look at practical tools, techniques, and best practices of welcoming ministry. 

2. Navigating Change: A Step Beyond - From the people who brought you "Change Management", Navigating Change takes a deeper look at organizational change theory and engages exercises to help participants further their understanding of conflict, change and steps toward transformative ministry. (Note: This workshop runs from 1:00 - 3:45. Those who choose it will only be able to attend this workshop and not chose another.) 

3. Worship: A New Vision - Re-imagine worship in the context of congregational transformation and faithful witness. Explore worship that not only understands but practices incarnation in a world where more and more people are clear that they are not looking for more information about God; they are looking for an experience of God. 

 4. A New Chapter: The Missional Church - In his book, Missional Church: A Vision for the Sending of the Church in North America, Darrel Guder states, "mission is not just a program of the church;" rather, it "defines the church." Congregations then need to move away from a preoccupation with institutional maintenance to "redefine themselves by their very nature." This workshop provides a chance to dig into the definition and creation of a missional church in our context.
