There are now half a dozen Mennonite congregations here in Montreal. Eight years ago there were none. What has happened that this once inward looking, traditional Church has suddenly started Church planting? They've discovered Missional thinking. Our UCC head office types have been using Missional Thinking for years. David Bosch's book "Transforming Mission" has been on several of our seminary curriculums. The UCC wants more congregations to be involved in mission. But what does this mean for your average congregation?

I have been invited to share one of the ways in which the congregation with which I walk - The United Church in Meadowood in Winnipeg, MB - has taken on Welcoming and Leadership Development. One of the ways in which we have begun this is to offer a movie night, followed by a workshop based upon the film/book Pay It Forward.
