A great personal affront - expletives deleted

I think all clergy are domineering, close minded and only interested in speaking with saved souls of a certain age and bank balance.
Lay people are lazy, and when they do speak up it is only to create mischief and sow seeds of descent, if not pure evil.
I have also seen that the only time people really get involved in online discussions is if they are:
(a) really into that kind of thing (geeks), and then only on the sites they are involved in
(b) they are tasked to do it
(c) they are offended
After three weeks online I've only seen one long thread (type c), so I figured I would offend everyone and see what else we can get posted. Hence this is a welcoming post. Welcome online, you've been flamed.
Have you ever felt welcomed? Where and how?
Have you ever been unwelcomed?
Is your church doing something right, or maybe wrong?
Have you posted a Biography of yourself?
Do you give a rats @$$ if we can make this whole campaign into some real useful resources?
I hope you are all offended and will post lots. So far I have seen some excellent blogs about leadership, where the site seems to be focusing with good clery involvement (hence they got the first insult). Keep up the good work. I will continue to annoy and encourage the sharing of personal experiences, working on the lay end.
(I warned them I would do this .....)

(In)appropriate use of technology

Ok everyone. We voted to spend $10 million bucks, hired some great staff to put up some whiz bang web sites, run fantasitic ads, and lead us all in training events. 2 years ago.

I don't have AMG's hit counter to see if anyone is visiting this site, but I want to know. And I want to know what you think about this program, and what you want it to do. Wondercafe is the "external" side, but this side is for us the UC community.

Is this the right forum? Does it work? Will you help make it work?

Wondercafe was flamed nicely in the first couple weeks for technology flaws and with a lot of hard work turned out nicely. Any opinions here? Any?

The Morph Project created an online resource to share contemporary worship resources. Activity on that site is limited at best (or so I'm told, I'm one of the hoards not visiting it). Is this site destined to the same fate?

The blogs have been great. Is that all you want?
The leadership ideas (mostly blogs) have been excellent too.
The wiki, is... in development. Do you think we should bother?

And if you've made it this far can you at least post a "We'll get there Bassic" message, and indicate if you were paid to say that.

My wife doesn't understand why, out of the blue three weeks ago I became obsessed with this site. It's phase 3 of what I hope is the best thing the UC has done in my lifetime. I was just as excited about phases 1 & 2 (with my apologies to the Emerging staff). Is anybody else?

At my stage of family and life I don't have a great deal of time to give the church. But I want to give encouragement to this project. My techniques may be unconventional (flaming everyone in the above post), but my techniques are well rooted in religious zealotry. Maybe not the best path to follow, but at least I'm passionate about something.

Shalom
Arthur
